How to transfer a cPanel account

Moving a client's site from another server to your reseller account is straightforward with WHM's transfer tools.

Transfer from another cPanel server

  1. Log in to WHM and search for Transfer Tool.
  2. Enter the remote server's details (hostname/IP and root or reseller login).
  3. WHM lists the accounts available — tick the one(s) to bring over.
  4. Start the transfer; WHM copies files, email and databases for you.

No root on the old server?

You can still restore from a full cPanel backup: ask the old host for one, upload it, and use WHM's Restore a Full Backup tool.
