How to set up private nameservers

Private nameservers (like ns1.yourbrand.co.za and ns2.yourbrand.co.za) let your clients use your brand instead of BPHOST's nameservers.

Step 1: register the nameservers

At your domain registrar, create child nameservers (sometimes called register a nameserver or glue records) for ns1 and ns2 on your domain, pointing each to the IP addresses we provide.

Step 2: set them in WHM

  1. Log in to WHM and open Basic WebHost Manager Setup.
  2. Enter your private nameservers as the default for new accounts.
  3. Make sure their A records resolve to the correct IPs (WHM can help configure these).

Need the IPs?

Open a ticket and we'll give you the exact IP addresses to use, and check everything resolves correctly.
