How to install a control panel on your server

A control panel like cPanel/WHM gives your server a friendly web interface for managing sites, email and accounts — instead of doing everything by command line.

Before you start

  • Use a fresh server (control panels should be installed on a clean OS).
  • Make sure your server meets the panel's OS and resource requirements.
  • Have your licence ready — we can supply a cPanel licence with your server.

The general process

  1. Connect via SSH as root.
  2. Run the panel's official installation command (cPanel provides a one-line installer).
  3. Wait for it to finish — this can take a while — then log in to WHM at https://your-server-ip:2087.

Want us to install and configure cPanel/WHM for you? Just ask — it's often included with managed servers.
